Dear Customer,

We are pleased to welcome you to our store. It is an honor to have you here. If you are not familiar with medicinal remedies, we request that you consult with one of us before prescribing them yourself. In Ayurvedic healing, different remedies are prescribed based on the constitution and needs of the individual person. Some remedies may work well on one person while those very same remedies may not be good for another.

Ayurveda recognizes three main constitutions, or energies, that are predominant in individuals. We call these constitutions “doshas.” All three doshas may be present to some degree or another, but, usually, one stands out from the others.

The names of the doshas are Kapha, Pitta, and Vata. The following list of herbs notes which herbs tend to work well on particular doshas using the abbreviations: K, P, or V. When there’s a negative notation next to the letter, this herb is useful for the dosha indicated. When you see a positive sign next to the letter, it is not good for the particular dosha (the plus sign means the herb accentuates the qualities characteristic of the dosha to excess, which is not good).

We highly recommend that you set up a consultation or attend one of our workshops so that we can determine which dosha is predominant in your body. That way, we can guide you to the remedies that will work best for you. If you are unable to do so, then please do more research or find another Ayurvedic practitioner to direct you.

Thank you for your presence.

Your apothecaries,

Taj and Carina
